EMIL BATCH
"Emil Batch, one of Rochester's hard-hitting outfielders, is a native of Brooklyn. He went into professional base ball with the Waterbury team, and when it was transferred to Holyoke in 1903, he went with it. In 1904 he covered third, doing it so well besides batting .337, that the Brooklyns bought his services and kept him until 1908, when he went to Rochester.
With the latter team, he has generally played in the outfield but has also filled in at third and short when necessary. In 1910, he batted .281, making 135 hits for a total of 166 bases.

FRED JACKLITSCH
"Fred Jacklitsch, the catcher whom the Rochester Eastern League club has secured from the Philadelphia Nationals, is a graduate of the Tri-State League. In 1906, catching for the York team, batted .295 in 67 games, and his graduation to the Philadelphias followed. In 1907 he caught 57 games and his work was very creditable.
In 1908, Dooin caught 132 games, and in 1909, 140, while in 1910, he and Moran divided 147 games between them. This left Jacklitsch little to do, and it is probable that with Rochester the opportunities will be greater."

HACK SIMMONS
"George Simmons, who goes back to Rochester from Detroit, first attracted the notice of base ball professionals when he played third for the Cornell University team. In 1909 he was near the top of all Eastern League batters, making 141 hits for a total of 211 bases, and his draft by Detroit followed. As a utility infielder for Detroit, he showed good work at first base in 22 games. His batting average was not up to his Eastern League figures, though some of his hitting was very timely."

IRVIN WILHELM
"Ivrin K. Wilhelm, one of Brooklyn's pitchers, is a native of Ohio, and when a student at Wooster University in that state, developed such ability as a twirler that he got into the professional game with the Canton club.
In 1901 and 1902 he was in the Southern League, and returned to it in 1905 after playing with Pittsburg (check spelling) and Boston. In 1906, he helped the Birmingham team win the Southern League pennant and in 1908 got back into the majors with Brooklyn. In 1910 he suffered a severe attack of typhoid, which kept him off the diamond the last half of the season."
