TOM JONES
"Thomas Jones, the first baseman acquired by Milwaukee from Detroit in February 1911, originally started with semi-professional teams as a catcher. Most of his major league experience has been with the St. Louis club of the American League, for whom he covered first in splendid style in 1904 until early in 1909, when he was traded to Detroit.
He made good with Detroit for the balance of the playing season, and by keeping the infield intact at his corner, greatly helped to land the pennant."
